DAILY ACTIVITIES
Every day, each child can hardly wait to get one of the many exciting jobs. The weather checker gets to run to the window, look up at the sky, see if a tree is swaying, look for rain clouds etc., as all the other children are singing the weather song. Another friend, gets to take the magic wand and count their friends, etc. Next,
we hold up a card with each child’s name and they learn to identify the letters in their own name as well as their friends names. The daily charades alphabet game is a lot of fun as they hardly know they are learning! They
get to pretend to be a tiger and we exaggerate the “T” and they get to find the slot in our ABC board to place the T. For those young ones, the old timers are happy to help! The young ones have fun acting out their card and sneak a peak at the place it goes for the next time!
Lots of Fun!
NATURE EXPLORATION
On Mondays, we go out and search for interesting things in the nature. We bring our magnifying glasses, look for bugs, interesting leaves, birds, talk about the different colors of things, how they are produced, what they need to grow, what they eat, where they sleep, how fast they can fly, what they taste like (Fruits and veggies).
COOKING CORNER
Tuesdays we create yummy cooking cooking projects. The children will all be a part of it from the beginning to the end! Ok, we will deal with the hot stuff, but your kids will be there to see what they created and then taste it….Voila!!!
FIELD TRIPS
Wednesdays are our Field trip days. We believe children learn through experience “Hands On“ curriculum.
We take are learners to neat places like: The library, Fire station, Discovery museum, Rancho San Antonio and other farms, Whole foods Market, Aviation museum, Palo Alto Junior Museum, etc.
SHARE DAY
Thursdays is share day where your child will bring in something that starts with the letter of the week.
It could be a book title, toy, or just about anything that can be shared. They love it! If they forget, don’t worry, we will have them find their favorite thing to play with here and share it.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
We welcome each family to enroll in weekly Gymnastics and or swimming. It is so amazing to watch the children grow in confidence with each of these classes! Swimming is at DACA swim school and a couple of classes are offered to our group. First, there is just a pre-swimming class which is geared for introducing your child to the water and having pure fun with no expectations. This is a class for our school only. However, you are welcome to actually enroll in the classes that teach your children to swim. I have seen our first group become swimmers and WOW, how they glow when they turn and look at me after crossing the pool!
Gymnastics is the traditional gymnastics with beams and poles, balance beams, fun warm up games, etc.
Talk about motor skills…..IT IS A HUGE HIT!
HOLIDAYS: We feel that Holidays are a special time in a pre school. We often celebrate these special times by inviting our friends and families to join us for food, drinks and Holiday cheer! We celebrate most Jewish
and non Jewish Holidays.
In all of our activities, parent participation is welcome, but by no means is it required!
